Carne asturianaThe value of the Asturian landscape, both on the coast and in the interior, is invaluable. This attracts many visitors, foreign and regional, and they love it. These marvels of nature; valleys, meadows, mountains, seas and rivers supply us with extraordinary quality raw materials, foundation of our rich gastronomy: milk; “xata roxa” (beef) Asturcelta pork or game (roe deer, deer, wild boar) meat; fish and seafood, along with the most varied fruits and vegetables, legumes (Asturian faba bean), and cereals, such as spelt or corn.

Pescados Asturias

Special mention to our desserts: rice pudding, “borrachinos”, “torrijas”, “frixuelos” (similar to pancakes), “casadielles” or “bollinas”, “requesón” (cottage cheese) served with apple jelly, berries jam or honey (heather and chestnut honey stand out) are the best way of ending a perfect meal.

Arándanos asturianosAnd we cannot forget about the cider, Asturias typical drink. There are two types. On the first place, the cider that needs to be poured, essential in cider-bars, “llagares” (where the cider is made), “fiestas de prao” (Asturian typical festivals) and “espichas” (tasting of typical products around a table). There is also the “achampanada” cider (an example of it, the popular Sidra El Gaitero) and the New Expression Cider. These two last types do not need to be poured, so people can enjoy them in the best restaurants.

I must also mention the liqueurs and the wine of Cangas (Geographical Indication), which is making a name for itself among the Spanish wines.

La casa del Campo has a list of catering establishments (restaurants, cider bars, “casas de comidas”, “llares”, “llagares”, “chigres”, bars… and more) where you can buy the authentic and highly recommended raw materials. We provide this list to the customer on the arrival day.
